Why exclusion matters more than trapping

Trapping alone treats the symptom. The hole in your roofline is the actual problem, and it stays open after the animal is gone.

Wildlife follows scent and airflow. An opening that let one squirrel in will attract the next one, often within the same season.

Proper exclusion uses heavy gauge metal, stainless screening, and correctly fastened wood repairs at every vulnerable point: ridge vents, gable vents, soffit returns, roof vents, chimneys, foundation vents, and crawlspace access.

The work has to survive weather and chewing for years, which is why construction quality matters as much as wildlife knowledge.
